Specifications for ordering curb and gutter forms

dee's straight curb and gutter forming system consists of a back form, face form, a division plate, and a top spreader. Back and front forms are standard straight flatwork forms with the back form taller than the front form.

There are five basic industry-standard curb and gutter profiles for either straight or radius configurations. They are:

  1. Vertical face - straight or radius - with the front and the back of the curb being at 90° angles.
  2. Battered face - straight or radius - with the back of the curb at a 90° angle and the front at less than a 90° degree angle.
  3. Bottom radius - straight or radius - a curb face with a radius formed into the bottom of the curb.
  4. Top and bottom radius - straight or radius - a curb face with a radius formed into the top and bottom of the curb.
  5. Drive over - straight or radius - a curb face with a slow, gradual batter allowing traffic to pass over.

These are the five most common curb and gutter profiles used by concrete contractors. dee will fabricate curb and gutter front forms, back forms, division plates, and curb face forms to meet any curb and gutter specification.

The components required to form each type of profile are listed in the tables below.

The tables that follow on this page list the dee components required to form 100 linear feet of dee straight curb and gutter setups or 100 outside perimeter feet for dee radius curb and gutter setups for each of the five most common profiles. The most typical curb and gutter specifications require a 12" curb back and a 6" gutter.   This standard configuration is used to calculate the information shown in the tables that follow.

Users must verify the curb and gutter configuration's:

  • curb back height
  • front gutter height
  • profile required

before placing any orders for dee straight or radius curb and gutter forms and check with their dee distributor before placing orders to insure the proper components are ordered.   Each profile has its own specific component requirements.
