Paving forms punched for dowels

dee Concrete Accessories also offers our standard line of paving forms in a punched for dowels configuration to accept rebar or solid dowels.

Paving forms punched for dowels - description

We also manufacture paving forms, punched for dowels, so these forms can be used to accept rebar or solid dowels. Paving forms are available in both 3/16" and 1/4" steel. Our paving forms punched for dowels are identical to dee's standard paving forms and reversible paving forms except for the addition of the dowel hole punching.

These forms are designed to be used when reinforced interlocking reinforced concrete is specified. The dowels, or rebar material, travel through the face of the form. After the forms are removed and adjacent concrete is placed, the two placements are interlocked by the rebar or solid dowels.

Dowel holes are punched on 2-foot centers or as specified. Dowel holes are punched slightly larger than the diameter of the solid dowels or rebar to be used allowing the paving forms to be easily slipped off the dowels after the concrete placement is complete.

All paving forms punched for dowels or rebar have a sliding nose to allow the form to be removed after placement without damaging the reinforcement material.

A less efficient alternative to using paving forms punched for dowels involves a concrete contractor placing hollow inserts into the concrete during placement or drilling dowel holes into the concrete after placement so it can receive the dowels or rebar prior to forming the adjacent placement.

Applications

dee paving forms are used in various concrete placement applications for intersections, highway entrance and exit ramps, streets, bridge approaches, airport runways, roadways, commercial driveways and truck pads, heavy equipment pads, and taper pours for ramps.

Our paving forms punched for dowels are used in those same types of applications with the additional specification requiring interlocked or reinforced concrete.
